Police have arrested three people on 30 drug trafficking and weapons charges after a raid at a property at Blacksnake near Kilkivan last Sunday.

They located a high-risk offender which led to a search warrant at the property on Blacksnake Road.

The offender, and two others at the property, were detained and arrested, without incident, on a string of serious offences.

Gympie Criminal Investigation Branch and Child Protection Investigation Unit continued the search of the property with assistance of the Tactical Crime Squad and Kilkivan police.

During the search, police found three firearms, various quantities of ammunition, approximately 1.8 kilograms of Methamphetamine worth an approximate street value of $900,000 – $1,440,000, approximately 510 grams of Cannabis, various suspect acids and $122,350 in cash.

Police also located three stolen cars including a Toyota Landcruiser allegedly stolen from Yandina Coolum Road, Maroochy River on June 7, a Jayco caravan allegedly stolen from a business on Pinewood Ave, Gympie between June 6 and 7, and a Toyota Landcruiser allegedly stolen from Pepperberry Circuit, Peregian Springs on May 19.

A 56-year-old Blacksnake man has been charged with four counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of unlawful possession of motor vehicles with intent to deprive, three counts of possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2, two counts of unlawful possession of weapons category A, B OR M, and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug (Exceeding Schedule 4), trafficking in dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug (Exceeding Schedule 3), receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying, producing dangerous drugs, possess shortened firearms, authority required to possess explosives, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act, fail to properly dispose of needle and syringe, possess tainted property, offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons and enter premises and commit indictable offence by break.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Gympie Magistrates Court on August 19.

A 45-year-old Nambour man has been charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons.

He has been provided a drug diversion.

A 61-year-old Yandina woman has been charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, fail to take reasonable care and precautions in respect of syringe or needle, fail to properly dispose of needle and syringe, possess property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence and offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons.

She was provided a drug diversion.

Wide Bay Burnett District Detective Inspector Paul Dalton said community safety is his top priority.

“This is a significant disruption to the distribution of drugs in our community,” Detective Inspector Dalton said.

“Each firearm and quantity of drugs seized stops the chances of those weapons and drugs causing harm on the streets.”
