"Unidentified explosives" randomly exploded at Osaka golf course, 1 injured and 20 evacuated

Unidentified explosives suspected to be bombs appeared at a golf driving range in Matsubara City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan today (6th) and exploded that afternoon, causing an employee's left hand to be injured. At present, the police have urgently sealed off the scene and evacuated 20 people including employees and customers in the museum. Police said they suspected someone had deliberately planted explosives.

According to reports, the Japanese police received a report from an employee of the Atyudo Golf Center at 1 p.m. that "something like a plastic bucket exploded and released hot air." After receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene and found a container with a capacity of approximately 45 liter gray plastic bucket. The unidentified explosive was placed on the access road in front of the golf course office.

 An employee revealed that he discovered the suspicious plastic bucket when he went to work that morning. He opened it to check and smelled gas.

The explosion injured a 41-year-old male employee's left arm. The injured employee pointed out that at the time of the incident, he felt that the plastic bucket was suspicious, so he was going to remove it so that he could show it to the president for inspection. Unexpectedly, the plastic bucket suddenly exploded and injured him.

Another employee revealed that he discovered the suspicious plastic bucket when he went to work at 5 a.m. that morning. He opened it to check and smelled gas. After the explosion, the golf course was immediately closed, and employees and customers inside the golf course were evacuated.

The suspected explosive is still in the golf course, and the Japanese police explosion prevention team began to deal with it at 5:50 p.m. The police pointed out that the plastic bucket was placed in a place frequented by everyone, so it was suspected that someone had done it deliberately.
