Surprising discovery in Jerusalem: unexploded bazookas from the Six-Day War found
An incredible find surprised those who were working on Ammunition Hill in Jerusalem. At that site, where one of the most important battles of the Six-Day War occurred, workers found two unexploded bazookas.

The projectiles were manufactured in 1956. According to the police, these are Jordanian rockets that were used during that battle in 1967. Police officers handled the bombs and successfully destroyed them.

The battle occurred during the second day of the War. On the hill there was a Jordanian post that was attacked by Israeli forces under the command of General Uzi Narkis.

Ruling out an air attack due to its proximity to civilian areas, Israel attacked the post with artillery. The national victory allowed us to gain a strategic area in the domain of Jerusalem. During the battle, 36 Israeli and 71 Jordanian soldiers were killed.

Today, the site is a memorial space for the 182 Israelis killed during the fighting for Jerusalem in the War.

"This is a moment when things come to completion," they said from the police.. “The weapons were found between the hill and the then police academy. Today, 54 years after the brave battle fought by IDF soldiers, Israel Police sappers returned to the site to handle the two bombs,” he stated.
