On 9 December 2020, Al Shabaab militants fired a mortar, targeting a government security forces (SNA) defensive airstrip in Baraawe town (Baraawe, Lower Shabelle). The militants fired several mortar shells at Baraawe airport after a plane carrying supplies for the African Union forces in Baraawe. No fatalities and/or injuries reported.
