On 20 May 2024, in Ta Law Gyi village (Myitkyina township, Myitkyina district, Kachin state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes using a fighter jet and dropped three bombs on an old police station and an old camp of a People's Militia Force, which had been captured by the KIA in 2023, at about 1:30 pm. Locals believe that the military conducted the airstrikes, assuming that there were KIA troops in those camps. There were no casualties.
