On 21 May 2024, between Chaung-U town and Ngar Shan village (coded as Chaung-U) (Chaung-U township (Monywa district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the People's Defense Force - South Monywa Company - 1, the Spring Youth People's Defence Force, PENTAGRAM (Five-Pointed Star), the Taw Thar Gyi PDF, the Myinmu Local Defense Force, and the Myanmar Islamic Commando - PDF carried out a mine attack against a Myanmar military jammar vehicle traveling from Nat Yae Kan checkpoint to Chaung-U town with three cluster mines at about 8:30 am. The military vehicle was destroyed. Subsequently, the combined force carried out mine attacks against a military convoy of 17 vehicles at the same location with five cluster mines at 9:50 am. Three military troops were killed.
