On 22 May 2024, between Ton Hsint and Kone Son villages (coded as Kone Son) (Hsipaw township, Kyaukme district, Shan-North state), a mine explosion occurred when a 60-year-old man stepped on a mine planted by an unknown armed group around 12 pm. He lost his right leg and his left leg was also injured from the explosion and sent to the Lashio hospital.
