On 23 May 2024, near Taung Ka Lay village (Bilin township, Thaton district, Mon state), an unknown armed group destroyed the Ma Saw bridge on the Yangon-Mawlamyine road around 5 am with a remote explosive. Three motorcycles fell from the bridge during the explosion and a man was killed. Two women and a man were injured and sent to a hospital.
