On 23 May 2024, in Myay Nu village (Singu township, Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), the military fired some artillery rounds at around 4 pm, hitting and killing a 78-year-old woman. Myanmar Pressphoto Agency reported that another 72-year-old man was also injured by 120 mm artillery rounds fired by the military between 19 to 23 May.
