On 23 May 2024, suspected US forces conducted strikes on Houthi forces in the houses of deceased President Ali Abdullah Saleh and former Deputy President Ali Mohsen Al Ahmar in Al Hawak district of Al Hudaydah (coded to Al Hudaydah - Al Hawak). One source claimed that the strikes resulted in killing and injuring between 7 and 10 Houthi fighters. Fatalities coded as 3 (conservative half of 7). Sources claimed that the buildings housed Houthi leaders and military experts. US forces did not claim the strike. Some sources indicated that the strike was carried out by an aircraft and others by a warship.
