On 24 May 2024, in Mrauk-U town (Mrauk-U township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), the military conducted airstrikes by dropping a bomb on the district administration office in Htan Ma Rit ward, where Arakan Army members stationed, at around 9:40 am. Khit Thit Media reported that at least 6 Arakan Army members were killed. Another source, DVB reported that there were no casualties. Myanmar Pressphoto Agency also reported that a spokesperson from the AA claimed that the news about 6 Arakan Army members being killed was fake and that there were no casualties. Another source, Narinjara News reported that 2 locals nearby were injured.
