On 24 May 2024, Fano Professor Asrat Weldeyes's brigade claimed to have thrown two hand bombs in Weldiya (Woldiya town, North Wello, Amhara), killing 2 members of the Raya Kobo Woreda administration and wounding 7 other persons. The perpetrators targeted the Raya Kobo Woreda administration head, who was leading a meeting in Weldiya town.
