On 15 December 2020, suspected BIFF militants detonated an IED in Barangay Pusao (Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Maguindanao, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao), suspected to be in response to military artillery fire at the nearby Datu Salibo town. The military said that a pregnant woman was killed by the IED explosion. Government soldiers were not in the vicinity during the IED explosion.
