On 20 December 2020, an IED, planted by an unidentified armed group in a shop, exploded in the city Ras al-Ain the countryside of Al-Hasakeh, killing 2 rebel fighters, a 20th Division fighter and a Al Mu'tasim Brigade fighter, as well as a man and a women who were passing through the area at the time of the explosion. 4 fatalities.
