On 21 December 2020, an IED by an unknown group targeting the MP of Hirshabelle state detonated near IMC Hospital, in Kulmis village in Jowhar town (Jowhar, Middle Shabelle). The MP and his Security guard was seriously injured. All injured were taken into the Regional Hospital in Jowhar town for medical treatment.
