On 23 December 2020, a convoy carrying logistical materials for the US belonging to a contractor (Iraqi company and drivers) for the Global Coalition was targeted by an unidentified group with an IED on the Hawali highway between Babylon and Baghdad (in Babylon). No injuries occurred, only material damage was caused. Coded at provincial capital, Hilla.
