On 24 December 2020, US forces in coordination with government security forces (SNA) conducted an airstrike targeting an Al Shabaab militant compound in the vicinity of Saakow town (Saakow, Middle Juba). The radio station operating at the compound was destroyed. No fatalities and/or injuries reported.
