Cluster Bomb / Submunition event in Ukraine on Thu 2nd May 2024

The Russian military attacked settlements in the Kharkiv, Chuguyiv and Kupyan districts. 

On May 2, at 07:00 a.m., a 64-year-old civilian woman was injured as a result of the shelling of Petropavlivka.

The Russians shelled Kupyansk with cluster munitions from the Uragan MLRS. Private homes were damaged. A 67-year-old civilian was injured.

Around 12:15, the occupiers struck the village of Ostroverkhivka with a Grom E-1 missile. The economic facilities of a private agricultural enterprise were damaged.

At 3:35 p.m., the Russian military shelled Liptsi with mortars. An apartment building, garages, structures at the civil infrastructure facility were damaged.

Around 4:30 p.m., the Russian military struck with guided aerial bombs. As a result of the shelling, private houses, outbuildings, farm buildings, and garages were damaged.

The enemy carried out airstrikes in the city of Dergachi, as a result of which 8 children and a 75-year-old man were injured. Private homes, the building of a sports club where children trained were damaged.

Around 19:00, a civilian man died as a result of enemy shelling of the village of Novoosynove.

In the village of Vovchanski Khutory, a residential building was damaged as a result of enemy shelling.

In the village of Stary Saltiv, coniferous litter was on fire due to enemy shelling.

At 02:10, the Russian occupiers fired artillery at the village of Baranivka. Private household was damaged. At 11:15 p.m., the Russian military shelled the settlement with anti-aircraft missiles.

On May 3, around 01:00, the Russian military shelled the city of Vovchansk with mortars. A private house was damaged.

Investigative and operational teams, forensic experts and explosives technicians worked at the scene of the events.

According to the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, the investigators opened criminal proceedings under Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
