Unexploded grenade recovered
Police recovered an unexploded grenade from a pond at Kendua in Netrakona. Kendua Thana police recovered this unexploded grenade and kept it in a safe place on Wednesday afternoon.According to the police and locals, Imran Khan of Ramnagar village of Dalpa union of Kendua upazila found the unexploded grenade while cutting soil in his pond with a shovel on Wednesday. Later people informed the police. The police came and rescued it placed it in a bucket filled with water and ordered the people of the area to stay at a safe distance.
Imran Khan, the owner of the pond, said while cutting the soil of my pond with a shovel, I found the unexploded grenade. I heard that our pond was first dug during the British period.Kendua Upazila chairman veteran freedom fighter Nurul Islam said I think this unexploded grenade may be from the liberation war period.Officer-in-charge of Kendua police station Enamul Haque PPM said that the unexploded grenade has been recovered and kept safe. Higher authorities have been informed of its safe disposal. Further action will be taken as per their instructions.
