On 22 April 2024, in Monywa township (Monywa district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the Anyar Defense Force, the Area 71 Defense Force (Monywa), and the People's Defense Force - Monywa District (battalion 8) carried out mine attacks against a Myanmar military vehicle coming from the Northwest Military Regional Command on the Monywa-Chaung-U road. At least five military troops were killed.
