On 25 April 2024, the Israeli military fired white phosphorus shells and flare bombs targeting the outskirts of Yaroun town (Bint Jbeil, Al Nabatieh) amid ongoing hostilities with Hezbollah. The Israeli military also fired artillery shells towards civil defense personnel after they arrived in the area to clear out forest fires. There were no casualties. International organizations have accused Israel of using white phosphorous bombs in the current war between Hezbollah and Israel.
