UKMTO has received a report of an incident 170NM southeast of Socotra, Yemen. The Master reports a suspected Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) attack on a merchant vessel while the vessel was transiting in the Indian Ocean approximately 300-400NM southeast of the Horn of Africa overnight of 26th Apr 24. The vessel and crew are reported safe and the vessel is proceeding to its next port of call. Authorities are investigating. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.
