Another incident occurred in Karachay-Cherkessia: not far from the village of Mara-Ayagy, unknown persons attacked a traffic police post, firing at it and using an improvised explosive device.

According to preliminary information, one law enforcement officer was killed and four others were wounded. Three attackers were eliminated.

A week earlier, a similar incident took place in the region: militants shot at a a car with police officers near a market in Karachayevsk and killed two officers. According to some reports, the same group may be behind the new attack.
