A long-range Kh-101 cruise missile that was launched over Ukraine from a strategic bomber fell in Russia.

This is reported by "Military".

An air-based missile fell in the north of the Volgograd region. Photos of the wreckage with the characteristic shape of the Kh-101 hull and its combat unit were published in social networks and the media.

The wreckage of the rocket was discovered on Monday, April 15, in a field in the Yelan district.

After launch from the Russian Kh-101 missile-carrying bomber , after flying for a certain time, it fell and fell into several parts.

It is not known what caused the fall. There are no visible signs of air defense damage on the missile body, which may indicate that the missile was malfunctioning or damaged during or immediately after launch.

It is worth noting that cruise missiles regularly fall in the Volgograd region and in general on the border territories of the Russian Federation with Ukraine.

For example, on the outskirts of Volgograd in January of this year, fragments of a Russian cruise missile that fell in a field were found.

"Military" also reported that on January 2, one of the Russian missiles fired over Ukraine fell on a village in the Voronezh region, which led to the destruction of houses.

The Russians often use the Kh-101 during mass terrorist attacks on Ukrainian critical infrastructure and energy facilities.

In March, Ukrainian air defenses shot down a modified Russian cruise missile that had a dual warhead.

The modified version of the X-101 received an additional warhead module, its total equivalent increased from 450 kilograms to approximately 800 kilograms. At the same time, the second combat unit has prepared striking elements in the form of cubic steel fragments to increase combat effectiveness.
