The enemy attacked a civilian truck with a drone on the territory of Krasnopil community of Sumy district, the driver was killed.

This was announced on  Facebook  by the prosecutor's office in the Sumy region, reports Ukrinform.

"The enemy attacked a civilian truck with a drone, the driver was killed - prosecutors are documenting the consequences," the report says.

As later reported in the official Telegram of the Department of Emergency Situations in Sumy region, rescuers eliminated the fire, which was caused by an enemy strike on a truck.

"On April 14, the rescuers received a message that a civilian truck caught fire in one of the border settlements of the Sumy district as a result of an enemy drone attack. Employees of the State Emergency Service immediately arrived at the scene and promptly extinguished the fire," the State Emergency Service reported.

Under the procedural leadership of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on April 14, 2024, around 8:00 a.m., using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, the occupiers on the territory of the Krasnopil community of the Sumy district dropped explosives from a drone on a civilian truck. The driver of the vehicle died.

As reported, prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement officers, are documenting the consequences of the shootings. The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region .

As reported by Ukrinform, since the beginning of this year, 35 residents of Sumy Oblast have been killed as a result of Russian shelling, and another 79 have been injured.
