On 13 April 2024, an IED previously planted by unidentified gunmen in a regime military intelligence commander's vehicle in Nawa city detonated without causing any casualties. The intended target is a former opposition rebel who signed a reconciliation agreement with the regime in 2018 before joining an armed group affiliated with the regime's military intelligence. There were no casualties.
