On 13 April 2024, Niger air force carried out airstrikes targeting IS Sahel militants in the area of Hourara (Ansongo, Gao) in Mali. The government said in a statement that at least 8 militants killed, 2 injured, and their materials destroyed. FAMa stated that several militants were killed and important war material destroyed as part of joint operations by the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
