On 1 January 2021, US forces in coordination with government security forces (SNA) conducted two airstrikes targeting an Al Shabaab militant compound in the vicinity of Qunyo Barrow village (Jilib, Middle Juba). The strike destroyed (AS-affiliated) Al Furqaan radio station and killed three journalists and one other militant
