On 2 January 2021, in the state of Michoacan (coded to Morelia), a landmine planted by alleged CU members exploded when an armoured vehicle of alleged CJNG members passed by. The explosion was recorded and circulated on social networks. It is not known whether there were any injuries or deaths.
