On 19 April 2024, two militants (likely SRA due to area and frequent separatist attacks on foreign nationals) opened fire and detonated a suicide bomb near the bus carrying five Japanese workers in Karachi - Landhi area in Karachi city (Karachi, Sindh). After a fierce exchange of fire, police killed the second militant. 1 Japanese worker was wounded, while 1 driver and 1 guard protecting the workers were killed. Authorities believe the attackers may have mistaken the Japanese workers for Chinese nationals, who are often targeted by separatist groups. Hand grenades and a sub-machine gun were also recovered from the site. 4 fatalities coded including the suicide bomber.
