On 19 April 2024, in Myawaddy town (Myawaddy township, Myawaddy district, Kayin state), the Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA) and allies attacked the Myanmar military soldiers from the IB-275 stationed at the No.2 Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge with bombs attached to drones around 7 pm. Around 5 military soldiers were killed.
