Invaders drop chemical round on Ukraine defense positions near Marinka 

The Russian invasion forces used a chemical weapon against the Ukrainian Army position in the Marinka direction.

Valeriy Shershen, the spokesman for the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Force, broke the news at the national telethon.

"We recorded the fact of the enemy dropping a proscribed chemical aerosol munition with suffocating effect on one of the positions. The wind blew in the enemy's direction," said Shershen.

In general, according to the spokesperson, over the last day, like the previous one, the Russians focused their main efforts on assaults on the Avdiivka and Marinka axes.

"It was here that 13 combat clashes took place. Moreover, almost all of them affected the Marinka district. He was rebuffed and left. In addition, the enemy fired more than 440 shots at our positions, using tanks, rocket launchers and barrel artillery," Shershen informed.

In addition, in the Avdiivka direction, Russian airstrikes hit the area of Avdiivka and Severne. In the Marinka direction, the enemy went on an offensive, achieving no gains.

At the same time, Shershen noted, the enemy launched artillery attacks on the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Heorhiivka, Kurakhove, and Oleksiivka.

"Also, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the regions of Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Makarivka and shelled the settlements of Katerynivka, Bohoyavlenka, Novomykhailivka, Blahodatne, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Novoukrainka in Donetsk region," clarified the spokesman.

He added that "in the direction of Zaporizhzhia, the enemy remains on the defensive, focusing their main efforts on preventing the advance of our troops."

Thus, Shershen noted, the enemy launched airstrikes on the districts of Orykhiv, Novodanilivka, and Robotyne, while their artillery hit Novoradivka, Levadne, Poltavka, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Charivne, Bilohirya, Orikhiv, and Prymorske in Zaporizhzhia region, and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region.

"Tavria forces’ rocket and artillery unit performed more than 1,090 fire missions throughout the day, including in counter-battery combat, and engaged previously-designated targets," said Shershen.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, from February 24, 2022 to June 25, 2023, Ukraine’s Defense Forces eliminated 224,630 Russian invaders, including 720 in the past day alone.
