Mandalay, where the coup leader and military generals are coming to celebrate the Thingyan festival. The People's Defense Forces-Mandalay (MDY-PDF) said that the Military Academy (DSA) in Pyin Oo Lwin was attacked yesterday (April 14) night.

Yesterday at around 9:00 p.m., they were attacked with shock missiles and heard loud explosions, said the residents of the city.

MDY-PDF information officer Ko Osmond said the attack was carried out because the military leader was present.

"It is confirmed that MDY-PDF fired and attacked Pyin Oo Lwin last night. The details will be released soon," he told Myanmar Now this afternoon.

During the attack last night, the residential areas of Pyin Oo Lwin hospital Locals said that there were explosions in the monastery as well.

When the PDFs attacked the DSA school, the military council troops based in Pyin Oo Lwin also fired back with heavy weapons. It was said that until late at night, the sound of gunfire was heard around the city, and the army of the military council surrounded the city in large numbers.

"Last night, from around 9 o'clock, we heard the sound of gunfire. The number of bullets fired was too many to remember. After more than 10 hours, it calmed down again. The sounds are too loud," said an elderly woman from Pyin Oo Lwin.

A man from Pyin Oo Lwin said that there may have been around 40 weapons in the shooting last night.

"The first two fell and then stopped. All the sounds stopped... the whole city. The voices are heard all the way. 3 in one minute There are also 4 shots. I heard the sound of shooting. On the night of April 14, 11 rounds of 107 mm shock missiles were fired in Pyin Oo Lwin town, and the orthopedic ward of the People's Hospital. Aung Mun Zeya Monastery, Luxury Hotel Ward (5), 4 people, including 2 monks from Aung Mun Zeya Monastery, were killed when the explosion occurred in Bala Min Tin Ward and Sam Jap Ward. The Military Council Information Department announced today that 12 people, including children, were injured.

There were civilian casualties, and Myanmar Now does not yet know the details of the situation.

Captain Zin Yew, a member of the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), noted that there was an effective attack in Pyin Oo Lwin yesterday.

"According to the actual ground report, 2 short-range missiles, No more than 5 at most, around the Military University and Takhak (Army Administration School). The two schools are next to each other. Shot around that. About 2 of them definitely hit the military target," said Captain Zin Yew.

"The rest are the troops from Pyin Oo Lwin cantonment, as usual. From the security stations, they shoot at everyone with large weapons. Hospitals, "We can say based on the reports on the ground that schools have been hit," he added.

According to MDY-PDF, fighting with the army has been going on since this morning in Pyin U Lwin Township and Nung Cho Township of Shan State after the military university was attacked.
