On 6 April 2024, in Shar Taw village (Shwebo township, Shwebo district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military of around 80 soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee troops attacked with bombs attached to a drone, hitting some houses and killing two women. The military also abducted seven locals including a Taung Tin villager as human shields and killed them.The military also set fire to about 200 houses, forcing 500 villagers to flee. The military also abducted and took a monk who requested the military not to kill locals and set fire to the village.
