On 9 April 2024, in Ann town (Ann township, Kyauktaw district, Rakhine state), the ULA/AA fired artillery rounds into the compound of the Western Regional Military Command at around 7:30 pm. One of artillery shells landed on the No.8 advanced communications battalion, killing a military major and injuring some others.
