IED event in Kosovo on Tue 9th April 2024

Kosovo police removed a suspicious unexploded device under a car in Leposaviq on Tuesday.

The Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the region of North Mitrovica, Veton Elshani, has confirmed that the suspicious vehicle has left safely around 16:20. The case was reported around 11:00.

The prosecutor's office described the case as a "cause of general danger", while investigations continue.

Police Notification

"Today around 11.00, the Police received information that a suspicious unexploded vehicle was found under a car in the city of Leposavici. The police reacted immediately and the relevant police units responded to the scene, including the K9 Unit and the Police EOD. The EOD of the American KFORI were also present. The unexploded vehicle was safely removed from the site, while the police left the scene around 16:20. In consultation with the Prosecutor, the case has been described as causing general danger and is being investigated by us".
