On 1 April 2024, in Jang Mai village (Momauk township, Bhamo district, Kachin state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike with a fighter jet and dropped bombs around 1 am. 5 locals were killed and 3 were injured. Locals claimed that some were family members of the military troops who fled from the Lwegel town. A 12-wheeled truck and a house were also destroyed due to the military airstrike.
