On 2 April 2024, in Kanhtauntkyi town (Myebon township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes on the town using two fighter jets at around 5:25 pm without an armed clash occurring. Three civilians from Myit Nar Tan ward were killed, and three others sustained injuries. Other source, Narinjara News, reported that 4 locals were killed in the airstrike. Fatalities coded as 3 using the lowest estimates.
