On 4 April 2024, in Santiago de Cali - Comuna 17 (Cali, Valle del Cauca), the Second Marquetalia FARC Dissident group detonated three explosive devices against the school and residences inside a military canton, which only caused structural damages. Five other devices did not detonate and were deactivated by the military forces. The families residing near the military canton were evacuated. The Mayor's Office offered a 50 million Pesos reward for any information that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the attack. The attack is suspected to be a retaliation against military forces over operations against FARC dissident groups in the previous days. There were no casualties.
