Two people, including an elderly man and a child, were killed in the Shabintu displaced persons camp in the city of Goma in North Kivu, Infosdirect.net learns.

According to sources, it was around 8 p.m. local time that a grenade exploded, resulting in the loss of life of two people. According to the same sources, this explosion also injured seven people in the Mugunga district.
“What we have just witnessed is rather an explosion of a grenade held by a person driven by bad faith, driven by an evil spirit who opened this device of death which killed an elderly man before the shrapnel did not fatally hit a child in a nearby house,” said Muhima Binwa, head of Block 28 in the Kashaka-Shabintu annex site for displaced people, quoted by ACP.
The injured were taken to a facility for medical care and the dead kept in the morgue.
