Local sources reported to Al Jazeera that the Sudanese army bombed positions of the Rapid Support Forces in the capital, Khartoum, and in the west of the country, amid continuing clashes between the two parties, while the head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said that they “will soon celebrate the victory.”
The sources said that army warplanes bombed with explosive barrels positions of the Rapid Support Forces around the Army General Command and the local radio headquarters in the city of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state in the west of the country. The army also launched raids on Rapid Support sites north of the city of Khartoum Bahri, north of the capital.
