On 25 March 2024, suspected crude bombs belonging to unidentified persons exploded at a school in Gangarampur town (Dakshin Dinajpur district, WB). Three students were left injured in the explosion ahead of the general elections. Crude bombs have been used in the past in perpetrating election violence in West Bengal. Police investigation into the nature of the explosion is ongoing.
