On 26 March 2024, an unidentified suicide bomber exploded himself near a vehicle carrying Chinese nationals in Besham town (Shangla, KPK), in a targeted attack when Chinese nationals were traveling from Islamabad to Kohistan to work on a Chinese dam construction project. At least 5 Chinese nationals and 1 Pakistani driver were killed in the attack. TTP denied involvement in the attack. Fatalities coded as 7 including the suicide bomber.
