On 29 March 2024, in Kan Htaunt Gyi town (Myebon township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), the military soldiers and the navy fired artillery rounds at around 10 am and some of the rounds landed in Ywar Thit ward and Taung Paing ward, hitting and injuring a 13-year-old, an 18-year-old, a 23-year-old, two 42-year-olds and a 45-year-old man.
