On 17 March 2024, near Pang Hsay village (Kutkai township, Muse district, Shan-North state), road workers stepped on a landmine planted by an unknown armed group around 10 am near the Christian cemetery located near the Kutkai tollgate while they were walking to the tree to have lunch. A 48-year-old man, a 26-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl, a 26-year-old woman, an 18-year-old woman and a 4-year-old child were injured. The 48-year-old later died from injuries on the morning of 18 March 2024.
