On 18 March 2024, in Thar Dar village (Minbya township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike with a fighter jet and dropped two bombs around 1:30 am. 21 Rohingya Muslim locals including children were killed and 25 others were injured. At least ten houses were also destroyed. DVB reported that 21 Rohingya Muslim locals were killed, and Irrawaddy and Shwe Phee Myay News Agency reported that 23 Rohingya Muslim locals were killed. Myanmar Now reported on 19 March that the fatalities had increased to 22. Fatalities coded 22 as the most recent update.
