On 19 March 2024, Houthi security forces blew up with IEDs 2 civilian homes causing the destruction of an additional 6 adjacent homes in Al Hufrah neighborhood in Radaa city (Rada, Al Bayda) killing between 9 to 12 civilians and injuring 9 more depending on sources. Fatalities coded as 9 following the more conservative estimate. The Houthi security forces targeted the Zaylai houses because members of this family ambushed a Houthi supervisor (mushrif) and his escorts the day prior (coded in a separate event). Houthi authorities claimed that it was an error and that the security officers will be held accountable for using excessive force against the criminals they were pursuing.
