On 22 March 2024, in La Ei village of Pekon township (Taunggyi district, Shan-South state), the military conducted airstrikes by dropping 120 lb bombs four times on the 16-Bed General Hospital at around 10:10 am. The hospital and an ambulance were destroyed. Khit Thit Media reported 2 locals were injured. Another source, Radio Free Asia reported a 16-year-old and a 40-year-old were killed and 3 other locals were injured. Another source, Shan Herald Agency for News reported a 50-year-old IDP man and a 20-year-old man were killed and 3 other locals were injured. Fatalities coded as 2 for the most up-to-date estimates.
