Ward governor who encouraged military service was shot dead

■ On March 22nd in Shwebo town of Sagaing province, Ward No. 4 governor U Nang Oi Oo was shot and killed, officials of the urban guerrilla group who worked with Shwebo residents told RFA.

It is said that the 35-year-old governor U Nang Oo Oo was shot dead inside a tea shop in Ward No. 4, where he lives.

An official of the Shwebo Guerrilla Guerrilla Group told RFA that U Nang Oo Oo was a dependable member of the military council in Shwe Bo and was inciting people to join the military in the neighborhood.

"He stirred up everything in Shwebo town. Because of him, some guerrilla members were arrested in the town. He also led the army's support rallies. There were also flyers in the neighborhood for military service. For various reasons.
