Grenade event in Manaska in Kalahandi District, Odisha area, India on Thu 16th March 2023

On March 16, Security Forces (SFs) busted a Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) camp and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from Gunduri Reserve Forest near Manaska village under Sadar Police limits in Kalahandi District of Odisha, reports Odisha TV. Following tip off about the activities of Maoists belonging to ‘Bansadhara-Ghumusar-Nagabali (BGN) Division’ in Gunduri Reserve Forest and Jugsaipatna on March 14, the SFs launched a combing operation in the said areas and swooped down on the camp. Seeing the SFs marching towards them, the ultras stepped back and entered into the deep of the forest. Later, the SFs seized 58 rounds of bullets, 10 detonators, 500 grams of gunpowder, hand grenade, gelatin sticks, two pairs of uniforms and other articles. Besides, SFs also seized a Maoist poster in which the Ultras appealed to take revenge of three Maoists gunned down by police in Taparang Forest and warned ‘Police informers’ of stringent action against them.
